About this scam
BitConnect operated an "exchange" and " lending" program that allegedly promised outsized daily returns generated by a supposed automated trading tool. Regulators including the Texas State Securities Board issued an emergency cease-and-desist in January 2018, alleging an unregistered, fraudulent scheme, and the platform collapsed shortly after, leaving investors unable to withdraw. The returns were widely described as unsustainable Ponzi-style payments. This entry reflects the regulator's public findings - see the linked notice.
